I'm Sarah Tymochko and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I am an Assistant Professor at College of the Holy Cross in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. I am also an alumna of Holy Cross; I earned my B.A. in Mathematics.
Previously, I was a postdoc at UCLA in the Department of Mathematics with Mason Porter. I earned my Ph.D. in Computational Mathematics, Science, and Engineering from Michigan State University working with Liz Munch. During graduate school, I was also an intern at Pacific Northwest National Lab in the data science group.
Currently, my research focuses on applied mathematics, including topological data analysis and dynamics on networks, with applications to social and biological systems.
Outside of math, I enjoy spending time with my pandemic puppy, Bella (see picture!), watching Netflix, knitting, pottery/throwing on the wheel, and listening to Taylor Swift (yes, I'm a Swiftie). I also love traveling and I have a goal to visit all 50 states and at least 6 continents—I’ve made it to 39 states and 3 continents so far.
